Going Green can save our earth, by fulfilling simple tasks we can do our contribute to the going green initiative.
1. Support Farmer’s Markets.

By buying local and in season, not only are you supporting the local farming industry but also reducing the carbon footprint. Buying elsewhere, the products are shipped in cold storage from all over the world they are also often out of season.
2. Cold Water Wash.
Your dirty clothes don’t need a warm bath to feel refreshed and clean like we do, although a cold water wash would do us no harm. The industry has brought about many improvements to washing powders to help reduce the energy usage for our washing machines, so cold water will clean your clothes.
3. Bad Bottled Water Habits.
Every year millions of plastic bottles go into landfills, needing more and more space for our waste. Buy a water filter and drink tap water that has been properly filtered, from a glass at home or at work. At the very least, recycle the plastic bottles.
4. Grocery Bags.

It’s not about the financial savings when you refuse a plastic shopping bag at your favourite store, it’s about the polluting of our rivers, destruction of our indigenous plants and animals that get trapped in them. Try canvas bags they, are much stronger.
5. Eliminate Junk mail.
We all hate junk mail that fills the post box almost every day. For most of us, the pile goes straight into the rubbish bin. Some at least recycle it. It would take a few minutes to have your name removed from these mailing lists saving trees and reducing land fills.
