What is Geopathic Stress?

Geopathic comes the Greek ‘geo’, meaning ‘of the earth’, and ‘pathos’, meaning ‘suffering’ or ‘disease’. The word ‘geopathic’ literally translates into disease of the earth. Geopathic stress is the general term for energies emanating from the earth that cause discomfort and ill health in human beings. Due to their detrimental effect, they are often referred to as negative earth energies.

What Causes Geopathic Stress?

Geopathic Stress is caused by unseen earth energies beneath and within a property that lower the immunity of the occupants of the home or business. Geopathic stress can cause symptoms such as sleeplessness, tiredness and headaches, which can escalate to ME, problems with candida overgrowth, depression, physical pain and has even been linked to cancer and leukaemia.

The negative earth energies can result from subterranean water, the earth’s magnetic lines and nodes, mineral deposits and geological faults, archaeological features, sites of past earth trauma such as battle sites and other conflicts, and a number of other issues. Geopathic Stress occurs when the earth’s magnetic field is disturbed, either naturally or artificially. Geopathic Stress results in negative earth energies having a detrimental effect on us.

There may even be a history of unexplained illnesses, such as cancer among the people who have lived there.

The house may have a constant turnover of owners because no seems to be able to settle, but as many people are not aware of Geopathic Stress, the issue often remains overlooked and undealt with. Foundations for tall buildings, underground transportation systems and public utilities such as sewage, water, and electrical systems discharge high levels of electromagnetic fields (EMFs). These disturbances are historically more recent than the natural occurring ones and have increased with technological advances.

Earth Energies

The earth has a natural magnetic field emanating from its largely molten iron core. The rotation of the earth creates electric currents in the molten metal found within the earth’s core, producing a magnetic field. We humans have evolved and grown in the presence of this field and are accustomed to being in its natural state. The magnetic field fluctuates in small amounts every day, brought about by weather conditions and the activity of the sun. None of these naturally occurring changes seem to have a detrimental effect on us.
